Cityscape #3

The office workload saw me fatiqued at the end of the day. Since we are anticipating our Regional Advisor on Wednesday, Oct 16, we are kept on our toes to clear up our area. As a result, couldn't even gather enough strength to on the PC at home.
Trying my best tonite while the going gets tough. Hee...hee....
This is my first photo of the Ovals - an opulent apartment financed by Kuwait finance. Didn't get around to study the building much. Not yet. It sure does look maginifient though. This was taken from the park on my way back to office after running an errand.

Cityscape #2

What was once a race course is now completely consumed by monstrous buildings. Now is no longer the race of getting the horse to the finishing line - but it's more of a race producing the tallest building. It is the war of heights. I suppose, I can just stand at the car park of my office and capture the numerous buildings at a 360 degree turn. Here's another building, the Troika surrounded by other tall buildings taken one evening (at 7:32 pm) while waiting for hubby to fetch me.

Cityscape #1

I was inspired by Duncan's Kuantan Skies photographic series. As a result, I decided to portray 30 of Kuala Lumpur's changing skyline.
I am going to start the series with the most photographed building, that is the Petronas Twin Towers. I had the opportunity to see this 'monster' being built from ground breaking to completion. My only regret was that I never had a camera then to capture the historical moments of the construction.
This photo was taken during my second Sunday morning walk around KLCC park. Working in the vicinity of this building, I have a huge collection of these towers. I know, until I retire, I'll never tire taking pictures of the Twin Towers.

FMS#Photoaday Day 10 - YOU

The most difficult thing for me is to be in front of the camera. I don't mind being behind the camera, though. That's where I feel the most comfortable. Anyway, this is really me taken by my daughter at Hadramawt Palace Restaurant while waiting for the food to arrive. This photo was taken on April 6, 2013.

FMS#Photoaday Day 9 - From Down Low

Day 9 - From Down Low. My husband, daughter and I went for a drive through the Oil palm plantation this morning after breakfast. When I saw a really tall Palm Oil tree, I told my husband to stop. I stood under the tree and here's what I came up with. Well, I did not reckon the glaring sun from above. I also wonder why there are so many secondary plants along the trunk of these oil palm. Could be they live symbiotically. I doubt they are parasitic plants.

Practicing for Dressage Competition

Zahra' is undergoing another round of practice for her third dressage competition which will be on June 16, 2013. I notice the sequence is slightly different from her previous two. This time around I decided to change my angle of shots slightly.
Following are some of the shots I took of her on her favourite horse, Doedoe.

I forgot to change the setting of my camera, so this photo turn out to be B&W.
Here she is walking Doedoe to the Dressage arena.

This photo looks like she and Doedoe were in communication. There
seem to be some kind of understanding between the two of them.
She had been riding him for the past three years.

FMS#Photoaday Day 8 - An Animal

Day 8. An animal. I had the opportunity to shoot some photos of my girl on her favourite horse, Doedoe. She was practicing for her upcoming Dressage competition. Here's my take for today's theme. I decided to take this photo in B&W and I really like the outcome.

FMS#Photoaday Day 7 - Bright

This photo was taken from the balcony of my house at 9:40 am. See how bright the sun was shining at the time.

FMS#Photoaday Day 6 - Transport

This photo is of my hubby's alternartive transport to work when I have to use the car on Saturdays. I decided to change it to B&W because I don't quite like the original coloured background.

FMS#Photoaday Day 5 - Environment

Work has really got into the way. So for this post on ENVIRONMENT, I revisit my photos gallery. This was taken in January 12, 2013. The event was my daughter's school cross-country race and the location was Permaisuri Lake Garden. This photo showed the boys taking their morning walk before the start of their race (which was around 11:00 am). The girls started their race at 9:00 am. I am proud to say that my girl made it 2nd place for the 5 km run.

FMS#photoaday Day 4 - After Dark

This photo was taken on March 16 at 8:23 pm on our way home from visiting my friend who had given birth four days earlier. I managed to get a few photos of the Sultan Abdul Samad building at the time before we were 'shooed' out of the area by the police. They were closing that stretch of road for the motorcyclist to race. Ugh!

FMS#Photoaday Day 3 - On my table

Day 3. What can be more interesting ON AN OFFICE TABLE? My work papers, eraser, glue, phones, a pair of scissors and the only interesting item is the wedding invitation.

FMS#photoaday - Day 2: A moment.....

Day 2. This is A MOMENT of triumph for my 13+ girl. She has always been wanting to drive and has been practicing since 12+ (whenever there is opportunity). Most times the car will stalled. On this day, she successfully reverse the car out of the parking lot, drove an extra half km and stop for dad to take over, without stalling. I am showing 2 pics here - one of her behind the wheel and the other her triumphant smile.

Lady in Red

Zahra' always look stunning in red. To while the time away, I decided to take a couple of close-up shots of Zahra' in her pensive mood. Off course, she was not too happy.

She likes to cover herself whenever I take a close shot of her.

I've never seen you shine so bright, you were amazing
(A line from Chris de Burgh lyrics, Lady In Red)

Water Lilies

It's not always I come across good spots for photography session. We were attending a friend's son's wedding reception at Mahkota Club House. On the way to car, Zahra' and I detoured the area and came across this pond full of water lilies in bloom. These plants are so exotic and the exciting part is the colour of these flowers are purple instead of the usual pink.

Pre-War Building near Central Market

I always like to look at Pre-War Buildings - whether in Melaka, Penang, Behrang or Singapore. They look almost similar in design and architecture and most of them truly show sign of age, wear and tear. This all depends whther the respective governments want to restore them and gazzette them as Historical Buildings or raze them down to make way for new designer buildings. These 2 photos show two of the buildings, adjacent to one another, near Central Market. At least they were given new coats of paint and the current tenant showed signs of preserving them.

5. #FMSphotoaday Feb - Something you smell

I was fasting today so the SMELL of sushi to break the fast was very appealing.

3. FMSphotoadayFeb - Something Beginning with E

I'd say today is my lucky day. My daughter asked me to take photos of her and she willingly posed for me - something which is beginning to be a rarity of late.
We were attending a Wedding of My cousin-in-law's son at Cahaya SPK Club. Naturally there was a swimming pool and a Children's playground. Even though the warning sign say "Only children 12 years and below", that doesn't stop my 14-year ol from having fun. For today's theme, I chose this picture of an EXCITED girl on the trampoline. Honestly, I have a hard time choosing the photo but this one sort of sum up her feelings. Ermm.....she is not attired for this activity, actually.

2. FMSphotoadayFeb - Pattern

Todays theme is Pattern. I was fetching my daughter from her friend's house when I chance upon this beautiful Staghorn Fern. They have patterns of their own which  find very intriquing.

1. FMSphotoadayFeb - Fork

February has made it's way in and I didn't accomplish my January photoshoot to the end. I'm starting for February and the theme is FORK. I chose nature. What I am trying to show here is that the branches on this tree fork out in different directions.

Day 21 #FMSphotoaday - What You Do

Scrapbooking is one of my creative avenue and I love to participate in challenges to keep the mood going. This is what I did today.

Day 20 #FMSphotoaday - Something You Saw

I was on my way out for grocery shopping when I saw these young boys having a fun time playing football at the field across the road facing my house.

Day 19 #FMSphotoaday - Delicious

Being a coffee lover, I really like this brabd new coffee that my husband bought for us. He is planning to be a Stockist selling this coffee to anyone interested in trying new coffee brands in the market.

Kuala Lumpur's Changing Skyline - New vs Existing

Kuala Lumpur is developing at a really very fast rate. It can be scary actually. To me this is the latest skyline which I took after the sun sets from my office car park. I should feel proud, but deep in my heart I do feel sadness.
This photo has nothing to do with FMSphotoaday theme. I just want to try taking photos in the evening when opportunity arose.

New condos fit for the wealthiest or expats only

Condominiums as well as office spaces

Existing skyline which house mainly the Oil Companies

Day 17 - Ready

I have 2 photos taken for this challenge. One is the laundry ready to be spinned and the other the bag ready to follow my daughter to her first school camp for 2013. Being a seasoned camper, she's very good at packing her tiny bag for an overnight stay.

Day 16 - Two Things

When I create layouts, these two items will not be missed, especially the tape runner.

Day 15 - An Ordinary Moment

It is a very common sight to see ladies or gentlemen carrying food back to office either for breakfast or for lunch. This was taken during lunch.

Day 14 - Something Yellow

There were so many things yellow around my office as well as the KLCC park. Somehow I like these yellowing leaves very much. This is a sign of changing leaves.

Day 13 FMSphotoaday - Circle

I love this colourful glass cover at Al-Rawsha Restaurant where we had dinner on Jan 13.

Day 11 - Water

It's hard for me to choose between the Fountain, the 'Waterfall' opposite my office or the images in the water. But I shoot all three for the Water theme.
