Bright Sunshiny Day

I had been telling my daughter so many times that I miss travelling. With MCO 2.0, I really feel trapped in the house because travelling is restricted within ten kilometres from the house. I can only go to the Supermarket to buy our necessities and back to the house. On top of that I am also restricted in my driving as I really need to give my right foot proper healing.

Yes with all that restrictions, I can focus what is at hand. Today was very bright and sunny and the clouds and sky became my center of attraction. The formation of the clouds can be very intriguing as these photos showed. The top photo was on my left and the bottom photo was on my right of where I was standing.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope I can get out after the MCO 2.0 for better pictures.

Cactus

I have always been fascinated by Cactus. I started growing them around my parents' house and even when I moved to my own apartment. Some of the Cactii I had were mostly from my grandfather's house.

I also bought a few variety and this particular one is one example. I was always fascinated by their size everytime I went to Cameron Highlands. I bought it with hopes I can grow and nurture it to the size I had seen at the Cactii Nursery. I bought this variety on 30th September 2019, i.e. on my daughter's 19th Birthday. She chose Cameron Highlands to spend her birthday then. Unfortunately I did not take a photo of it when I first bought it then but this is how it looks today.

I always had to fight the weeds and this
particular weed chose to grow as close
to the sharp thorns

My sister, Asmah, suggested I use tweezers. Yes
it does help a lot. But I have to really be
careful to ensure I pull out the roots as well

Done. Looks nicer now.
After two years plus, the cactus has grown to
this size.

This cactii was given to me by my late grandfather. I had
grown it at my parents' house and this is from my backyard.
I really love to see them growing nicely in the pot.

This is what I had been up to during MCO 2.0. Taking care of my Cactii, plants and vegetables.

Thank you for stopping by.

Pandas Moment

Ever since the breakout of the Covid19 Pandemic, we seldom go out except for grocery shopping. This was a rare outing to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. We went to the Zoo to watch the Pandas, the highlight of our visit. Since it was daughter's birthday month, entry for her and her father to the Zoo was free. Father and daughter share the same birthday month.

Photos are just of one of the Pandas. The other Panda was sleeping away while this one was active and create a lot of attention from visitors.

Teluk Batik Day Trip

My 2020 roundup - a trip to Teluk Batik, Lumut.

CMCO really does get into our nervers in a big way. Since there is a slight ease to the rules I told my husband I needed a break and a nice getaway. Hubby decided on Lumut and actually I had a hazy idea what can be done there. So Teluk Batik Beach was just an unplanned stopover and a first for the three of us. It was good, really and we enjoyed it very much despite some unpreparedness on our part.

Cattitude

The Child discovered three new kittens at the balcony. Since I still cannot go upstairs yet, due to an injury to my right fifth metatarsal, The Child will catch the kitties and bring them to me to see. Unfortunately, the three kittens are not human friendly. That is how the mother taught them. The mother herself is not human friendly, too. She will only come to greet us when she wants to eat. Forget about stroking her. No matter how much we fed her, she remains a total stranger.

So adorable and so sweet

Looking so calm

Showing her fierceness

In attack mode. No way can I come nearer

The second kitty. Equally fierce

When it calmed down. This particular is a bit
more approachable than the white one
So far, The Child managed with these two. There is a third one and apparently it will quickly run into hiding when approached. Just waiting for the right moment.

Thank you for stopping by.

Island Hopping

This collage is created for Art-piaskownica and the theme is Summer Holiday. Not that we have Summer in the true sense of the word, we still enjoy our breakaways occasionally.

Malaysia is blessed with an Equatorial climate where we have all year-round 'summer' interspersed with rainy months or weeks. Since we have no specific summertime, we still have weekend getaways or weekday getaways.

This collage is of us going to Pulau Pangkor (Pangkor Island) during the weekday when the number of visitors is not at its highest. We went on Thursday and left the island on Saturday morning in time for the weekenders to arrive.

Pangkor Island is one of the well-known Fishing villages where majority of the island's population strive on fishing as their livelihood. There are activities one can engaged while in Pangkor Island. Snorkelling. These photos show my family and and I and other families getting ready to snorkel. We were lucky because that particular morning the water was calm and very clear. We could see the fish clearly and play with them. My first attempt at Snorkelling and I really enjoyed it very much.
Another activity is Island hopping but there is not many islands to boast of that one can really appreciate. If you enjoy the historical sites, rent a car and drive around the Island. It took us 6 hours to complete the tour of the island. Eating. Nothing beats filling your stomach especially with fresh fish, prawns, and others, out of the sea. One has to be smart to find the eateries that will not make you poorer so quickly. Better to scout around or ask your Hotel for pointers. Better still, ask other visitors who are there while you are staying at the Island. We scout around and my husband will do the price comparison for better value and really good to eat. Even though we are Malaysians, to the islanders we are outsiders with plenty of money to boot. It doesn't really matter whether we are travelling on a shoe string. Last but not least, Swimming. Check your swimming time if you want to swim in the sea. The waters can rise very quickly and the tides can be rough, too. Always check and swim within the allowable limits.

Here is the Collage of our 'Summer' getaway.

1. One of the Islands that look like a Whale from a distance
2. The many beach wears one can buy. Negotiate
3. The deep blue sea from our drive around the island
4. My family and I getting ready to snorkel
5. Boatloads of enthusiastic snorkellers
6. Boat ride to view the different island and to our snorkelling destination
